Sometimes it seems to me that the world is a moving uninterrupted chain of carnival masks with only some bare faces flashing here and there. They look confused and seem to peer shortsightedly into the chain,  that rushes before them at superior speed, as if hoping to find an open face. One should be quick to stretch a hand in a proper moment and pull a new friend out of this rotation.

It was a hard work  for me, Eduard Pouterbrot, to search for my own way between my East and my West, between your East and your West.  I found it in attempts of reading signs and lines, that had been given to the people before me. Each of the signs has more than one meaning, that makes it possible to read the book of meanings in time, in experience, in communication.
I try to create symbols and their combinations and to improvise upon their themes. In my work I give only an impetus, a provocation. Subject should grow inside spectator, each spectator has to grow the subject of his own.

Sometimes I feel like a shaman, who draws magical images and tells Good from Evil, thus establishing Good and destroying Evil. My pictures are before you. What are they to tell you about? Perhaps about the people living in another land, about what they love or hope for? Or about the terrible and bloody history, about mountains and encounters?  However the pictures are most likely to tell everybody about the artist himself. Though any curious spectator might as well find in the pictures all the  rest. For every man always has his home with himself. Rain and snow are outside. The rest is inside.
